Guests
We allow ten guests at weddings in City Hall. Children and photographers are also included in these ten guests. If you have more than ten guests, they can meet you at the City Hall Park after the ceremony.
Witnesses
Two of the guests may be witnesses. Witnesses are registered on site and must be over 18 years of age and understand the language in which the ceremony is being held. If you do not have your own witnesses, our staff are on site to help you.
Interpreter
You both need to understand the ceremony and its meaning. If you do not understand Swedish or English, you must have an interpreter. The interpreter is booked via the wedding administration, contact us well in advance of the ceremony if you need an interpreter. There is no fee to get help from an interpreter.
However, if we have booked an interpreter, and you do not come to your booked wedding, you will need to pay for the interpreter.
Photography
In connection with your wedding in the City Hall, it is allowed to take photos inside and outside the wedding room. Unfortunately, it is not possible to take pictures in other parts of the City Hall.
It is fine to stay for a short while after your wedding to take some last pictures. There are several brides and grooms in the premises at the same time, so remember to show consideration.
If you have a photographer with you, he or she is counted as one of your maximum ten guests.
Throwing rice is not allowed
Throwing rice at the bride and groom is an old custom. However, it is not allowed to throw rice, flower petals, confetti or the like at Borgargården, as it is difficult to clean among the cobblestones and it can get into the building. However, it is possible to blow soap bubbles to congratulate the bride and groom.
